Pastor Chris Heckert, Senior Pastor Haddonfield United Methodist Church
Rev. Chris Heckert

Senior Pastor

Chris Heckert serves as the Senior Pastor of HUMC, bringing a heart for mission and the arts to his ministry.  Chris has a passion for sharing the message that God is love and the church nurtures individuals in that love through meaningful relationships and experiences.  Prior to coming to Haddonfield, he served as the Senior Pastor of Morrow Memorial UMC, as the Associate General Secretary for Mission Communication at the General Board of Global Ministries, and also served other churches in New Jersey and Western Pennsylvania. He enjoys photography, playing the guitar, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Rev. JiSun Yang

Associate Pastor for Spiritual Formation

JiSun serves HUMC as Associate Pastor for Spiritual Formation. She loves to share God’s stories of love and listen to the stories of people. She was raised and worked in South Korea as a programmer and project manager before she came to the States. She is a graduate of Drew Theological School with  an M.Div degree and served as a children’s pastor. Prior coming to HUMC, she was the pastor of Repaupo UMC and St. Paul’s UMC in Bridgeport. She enjoys learning new things and playing table tennis with her husband.

Pastor of Visitation Ministries

George is the Pastor of Visitation Ministries, where he focuses on ministering to those who are sick or cannot come to HUMC. George returns to HUMC after retiring as Senior Pastor in 2012. An ordained minister for over 40 years, he has served more than ten congregations in New Jersey and Florida. George is married to The Reverend Kathleen Bohren Morris, and they have four children and twelve grandchildren. Together, they enjoy traveling and spending time with friends.

Dr. William Gorton

Director of Sacred Music

William brings a strong background in vocal performance, conducting and music ministry to our congregation, has a heart for God, and a commitment to the ministry of the church. He has served as the Director of Music Ministries for numerous churches, most recently at First Christian Church in Bloomington, Illinois. Previous to coming to HUMC, he was Assistant Professor of Voice and Opera at Millikin University.  William is a published composer of hymns and choral anthems, and enjoys working with all aspects of our diverse music program at HUMC.

Jessica Thomas

Director of Contemporary Worship

Jessica Thomas is the Director of Contemporary Worship at HUMC bringing with her several years of music ministry experience from Illinois, Arizona, and Cape May, NJ.  A graduate of Millikin University’s Commercial Music program with an emphasis in voice performance, Jessica’s love for communicating faith through song is only strengthened through the community and shared spirit of the dedicated musicians of HUMC.  When not at the church, Jessica is Head of the Vocal Music Academy at Camden County Technical Schools at the Gloucester Township Campus.  She is wife to Chris, also a musician, and mom to son, Greyson, and daughter, Elandra.

Kristi Edmonds

Director of Youth and Mission Ministries 

Kristi is a graduate of Rutgers School of Social Work and has over ten years of experience providing guidance and support to children and adolescents facing unique challenges in a variety of settings. She has a passion for helping youth and an energetic personality. When Kristi is not in the office, she is spending time outdoors, spending time with family, or watching the Philadelphia Eagles.

Julie Robertson

Director of Children’s and Family Ministries 

Julie is a graduate of The College of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Management. She has been a volunteer for the HUMC children’s program since 2005 and became a child care provider in 2015. In her free time, Julie likes to discover new music, watch movies, and read.

Megan Martin, Director of Communications Ministries
Megan Martin

Director of Communication Ministries 

Megan is a graduate of McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College). She studied Communication and Religious Studies and grew up in an ecumenical household, leading to an active church life within both the Roman Catholic and The United Methodist denominations. In her free time, Megan is an avid reader and loves to take nature photographs. Megan has seven nieces and nephews who also keep her busy.

Jaime Charlton

Office Administrator

Jaime Charlton is the administrative assistant at HUMC. When Jaime is not in the office, she is spending time with her grandchildren and husband.

Phil Juliani

Building Manager

Phil has had an experienced career as a foreman of 15 years, with a background in construction, plumbing and maintenance. He brings a willing spirit and a myriad of skills to the role of building coordinator. When Phil isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and bicycling.

Lynne Ebling

Director of HUMECC 

Lynne is the Director of HUMECC (Haddonfield United Methodist Early Childhood Center).  She holds a Masters of Education with emphasis in Early Childhood Education.  Lynne’s affiliation with Haddonfield United Methodist spans over 25 years as a Lead Teacher in the 4 year old classroom before becoming the Director of HUMECC.

Lynne is passionate about children, their growth and development, getting to know our families and quality of our service.  She works together with teachers, parents and children to provide a safe and happy learning environment for each child that will stimulate all aspects of their growth-physical, social, emotional and cognitive.
Karen Bertoldi

Business Manager

Karen Bertoldi has been working at HUMC for five years. She enjoys spending time with her family and days at the beach at her shore house.
