Student Ministry

Our students never have to face life alone. Finding faith, fellowship, and fun together.

Our Student Ministry, which is affiliated with Reconciling Ministry Network, offers opportunities to have fun with peers while building relationships, growing in faith, and serving others within a safe and welcoming environment.

Summer 2026 Mission Journey: Dublin, Ireland

This life-changing trip coincides with the United Methodist Church’s Global Young People’s Convocation (GYPC), a worldwide gathering that fosters connection, leadership, and mission across cultures. Held every four years, GYPC brings youth and young adults together to worship, serve, and grow in faith.

In Dublin, we’ll serve alongside Just ASK, an organization empowering young people in economically challenged communities through education, mentoring, and opportunity. Our approach to mission centers on partnership—walking alongside others, learning from one another, and recognizing that God is already at work in every place we go. A cultural day trip to Northern Ireland will deepen our understanding of peacebuilding and reconciliation as we experience how faith and community continue to shape this region. Together, we’ll discover what it means to cross borders of geography, understanding, and compassion as we share in God’s transforming work in the world.

This trip is Monday, July 6- Wednesday, July 15.

Summer Youth Mission Days

  • Monday, July 27 - Cooper River Eco Paddle

  • Wednesday, August 5 - Beach Cleanup & Zip Lines

Please pack a reusable water bottle for both trips, and for the Cape May day, be sure to bring a lunch. Bug spray, sunscreen, and close-toed shoes are required for all participants. The deadline to register is July 12, and chaperones and extra drivers are greatly appreciated!

Six Flags Great Adventure Trip

Let’s wrap up summer with a day full of thrills, laughter, and memories with friends! Our youth group is heading to Six Flags Great Adventure on Tuesday, August 25, and we’d love for your student to join us for this end-of-summer adventure.

We’ll meet at the church at 9am and return around 8pm. Transportation is provided, and pre-registration is required to attend, so be sure to sign up in advance to reserve your spot.

Parents are responsible for purchasing tickets for their child. Daily passes are available online for $45 and tickets can be purchased directly through the Six Flags website–click the button below

Because Six Flags is a cashless park, students should bring a debit or credit card, or plan to exchange cash for a pre-paid debit card at the park. Outside food is not permitted, so students should bring money for meals, snacks, and souvenirs. Refillable water bottles are allowed, and we recommend sunscreen and comfortable clothes for a full day in the park.

We can’t wait to spend this fun-filled day together and celebrate the end of summer in style! To join us, please register by clicking the button below.

Summer Mission Journey

Each year our students are invited to participate in our mission journey.  We alternate between serving at Give Kids the World Village in Kissimmee, Florida, and UM ARMY in Trucksville, Pennsylvania. There are several fundraisers throughout the year to subsidize the cost for our students so that everyone who wants to participate can attend.

Retreats

HUMC participates in two Youth Retreats each year. Both retreats are high energy events designed for youth in grades 6-12. Both weekends are filled with worship, speakers, workshops, and mission opportunities. Friendships are formed while the youth are deepening their faith.

Mid-Winter Advance

This event is held in January at Refreshing Mountain Retreat Center in Stevens, PA.

Mid-Winter Advance was Friday, January 23 - Sunday, January 25, 2026.

Ignite! Live as Children of the Light

Ignite is a high-impact, life-changing weekend for youth in grades 6-12 with high energy worship featuring powerful worship bands. The weekend includes relevant, engaging messaging from nationally and locally known speakers and inspiring interactive exhibits led by dynamic professionals. Ignite celebrates a diverse community and a way to connect with God and grow spiritually with 2,000 young people from around the region.

Ignite is Friday, October 9 - Sunday, October 11, 2026. We will meet at the church at 4:30pm on Friday to travel together to Wildwood, arriving in time for dinner at our hotel. We will return Sunday around 2pm, stopping at Wawa on the way home for lunch (the only meal not included in the cost of the weekend).

The full cost of the trip includes conference registration, accommodations, and all meals (except Sunday lunch). Early registration is $200 through July 31, with late registration at $215.
