Christmas Mission Projects

Toy Drive for Mission Partners

November 1-December 14

The season of giving is almost here—and together, we have the chance to make Christmas brighter for children and families in our community! Haddonfield United Methodist Church is once again partnering with Acenda Integrated Health, The Neighborhood Center, and UrbanPromise for our Annual Christmas Toy Drive.

From November 1 through December 14, we’ll be collecting new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages. These gifts will bring hope and holiday cheer to local families who might otherwise go without this season.

You can drop off donations in the marked collection bin located in the Welcome Center. Every toy, game, or stuffed animal helps remind a child that they are seen, loved, and valued. Whether you give a little or a lot, your generosity will make a real difference. Together, we can help ensure that every child experiences the joy and wonder of Christmas morning.

Secret Santa

Donation Period: November 2-December 14

Winter Wonderland Festival at Byron Gardens: December 20

Now in its third year, our Secret Santa outreach is becoming a special way to share Christmas joy with children in need. Through our partnership with Neighborhood Collaborative Community Gardens, we help provide gifts for children living in Camden and Nicaragua.

Beginning November 2, you can stop by the table in the Welcome Center to pick up a Secret Santa letter. Each letter includes a child’s wish list, with an estimated cost of around $50 per child. Please return unwrapped gifts by December 14 so they can be sorted and delivered in time for the celebrations.

Want to meet the children and share in the fun? You’re invited to join us for the Winter Wonderland Festival at Byron Gardens in Camden on December 20. We’ll meet at the church at 9:30 a.m. and return around 4:30 p.m.

Operation Bear Hug

Through Christmas Eve

This Christmas Eve, we’ll once again deliver Operation Bear Hug—a mission of love and comfort for patients spending the holiday in local hospitals. Each year, our congregation collects new teddy bears and plushies (“cuddle hugs”) to remind people they’re not alone and that they are deeply loved.

Our goal this year is to collect 1,000 bears or plushies by December 24! Every donation helps us bring warmth, encouragement, and a little Christmas joy to someone who needs it most.

Advent at Haddonfield UMC

Sermon Series: God With Us

Begins Sunday, November 29

The holiday season is an exciting time - good, gifts, gatherings. But in the business of the season we can sometimes struggle - with worry about the future, stress of bills that pile up, grief of loss of loved ones - anxiety for the happenings in the world - these feelings can cause us to feel alone while the world celebrates.  But the purpose of Jesus’ birth is that all people would never be alone. God is ALWAYS with us - in our fear, our joy, and in our struggle.

Come and get real with us as we hold the joy of the season, the anxieties we try to hide, and find God WITH US together!

Book Study: Incarnation

Begins Wednesday, December 3

His parents gave him the name Jesus. But the prophets, the shepherds, wise men, and angels addressed him by other names: Lord, Messiah, Savior, Emmanuel, Light of the World, and Word Made Flesh.

In this three-week Advent class, Pastor Yeeun will lead us through a study of Adam Hamilton’s Incarnation: Rediscovering the Significance of Christmas. We will delve into the names of Christ used by the gospel writers to explore the deep historical and personal meaning of his birth.

In the face of uncertainty and conflict, Advent is a time for us to come together, reclaim the hope of the Christ Child, and reflect on the powerful call to bring light into the darkness. Join us as we prepare our hearts for the joy of Christmas.

Study Schedule:

  • Dates: Wednesdays, December 3, 10, and 17 at 7pm
