Mission Trips

Our church engages in a number of mission trips to serve with others and to partner in what God is doing in the world.

HUMC takes a team each year to Los Cocos, Dominican Republic to serve with Building Up, a long-term mission partner. Along with teams from other churches and organizations, HUMC has contributed funding, leadership, and work teams to help build a Community Center in Los Cocos, as well as over 100 new houses in the past ten years. Programs are being developed to meet the educational, vocational, and health needs of the community. HUMC has additionally committed to sponsoring a Children’s Library in the Center.

Student Ministries Mission Trips

Students from our Junior High Youth group take a mission trip to Kissimmee, Florida where they volunteer for Give Kids the World. GKTW is a non-profit organization that provides anything and everything a family needs to bring joy to children with critical illnesses.

Traveling to several different locations, our Senior High Youth group walks with people in other contexts and serves in mission during the summer. In recent years we have served in Costa Rica, Frakes/Kentucky, Eleuthera/Bahamas, Beverly/Kentucky through non-profit organizations building or maintaining facilities for the population of certain communities.
